The World Food Programme (WFP; French: Programme Alimentaire Mondial; Italian: Programma Alimentare Mondiale; Spanish: Programa Mundial de Alimentos) is the food assistance branch of the United Nations and the world's largest humanitarian organization addressing hunger and promoting food security.[1] On average, the WFP provides food to 90 million people per year, of whom 58 million are children.[2] From its headquarters in Rome and more than 80 country offices around the world, the WFP works to help people who are unable to produce or obtain enough food for themselves and their families. It is a member of the United Nations Development Group and part of its Executive Committee.[

So as you can see..it is a programme that is widely know around the globe for its help to the needy and poor people of different country's.I think that this programme can really make a difference to the people around us. There are many ways to support THE "WFP." Some of the ways is to create awareness between people about it. People also donate money to the programme which will then be used and processed to help the poor people.
There is also a website www.freerice.com ...it is part of the "WFP". That is a website in which you have to solve quizzes for free according to the subject u choose. Everytime you get a question right...10 grain will be given by the "WFP" to the poor. soo far I have answered 40 questions correctly, which means the "WFP" must have given the poor 400 grains of rice. I m glad that I am paying my part of helping the poor.
